VÀI HÀNG VỀ HOẠ SĨ N. VO 

DS Võ Thị Mỹ Ngọc đi du học bên Pháp từ năm 1969 và tốt nghiệp tại Ðại Học Dược Khoa Chatenay Malabry (Paris Sud). Sau cuộc đời làm dược sĩ tại các nhà thuốc và bệnh viện, chị Mỹ Ngọc hiện không còn hành nghề nữa và lấy thì giờ nhàn rỗi để vẽ tranh. Ngoài sinh hoạt hội hoạ này ra chị còn có ý định viết truyện. Truyện đầu tay mà chị rất muốn viết có lẽ, theo chị, là một truyện thần tiên (conte de fée).

Trong ngành hội hoạ chị đã thổ lộ là có ý thích thiên về khuynh hướng "Impressionisme" và "Fauvisme".

Năm ngoái (2001) chị đã trưng bày tranh để triển lãm tại Montpellier (Pháp) một tháng, năm nay vào tháng 9 tới chị cũng sẽ tổ chức triển lãm tại một làng gần Montpellier.

AN ARTIST WITH MULTIPLE TALENTS  

Artist Võ Thị Mỹ Ngọc loves nature and art in all of its forms.

From a family of six sisters and six brothers, she has enjoyed a rich tapestry of cultural and literary talents. Her taste for healthy argumentation made her an advocate of many issues relevant to Pharmacy - such as Homeopathy, very much practiced in France- and the well being of compatriots living in that country. Her letter posted on the VPhForum on April 22, 2002 regarding the political events in Paris and cities in France attested  to this great concern. 

Mrs. Mỹ Ngọc attended piano recitals at the Salle Pleyel in Montpellier - where she resides - and excelled in culinary arts, as were her mother and sisters. Recently, I have been to an anniversary of her mother's death, at which the eldest sister prepared a full range vegetarian party meal with sushi, mắm chay, bánh bèo, gỏi, and even nước mắm chay  made with coconut juice. Living in France, it is only natural that Mỹ Ngọc makes French pastry to perfection. 

She has taken on painting in the last ten years, finding there an expression of her inner-self in the wake of a big change in her personal life. Her paintings range from impressionism to some aspects of fauvism, with vibrant and bold colors.

She plans to exhibit her works in the United States, and starting in June 2002 will spend three months in California, where most members of her family reside. For sure, she will be present at the Y Nha Dược Convention in Anaheim this summer to greet colleagues, VPhF members and friends across the countries.
